Three of Nigeria’s senior football team players currently in the 2023 African Cup of Nations taking place in Cote d’Ivoire have tested negative for stimulants.
Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and William Troost-Ekong were singled out for a random doping test by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The trio came out clean and were cleared to take part in their quarter-final clash with Angola on Friday, February 3.
The random tests are standard procedures, typically conducted on players whose enhanced energy levels may raise suspicions of substance use.
Two Cameroonian players reportedly also underwent similar tests.
