Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adediran popular as Janfor in the Lagos political circles left the PDP on March 3rd, citing indiscipline and anti-party activities by the leaders.
He announced his resignation of his PDP membership along with his Lagos4Lagos Movement, at a press conference in Ikeja, Lagos.
“Our return to APC was not for personal purpose but reflection of our commitment to the development of Lagos”, said Jandor.
He stated that he had crucial discussion with some leaders of the major political parties and that he and his supporters agreed to return to APC.
Jandor said ”Our return to the APC is not a decision made lightly. It is a reflection of our unwavering commitment to the progress of Lagos State and our belief that unity among progressives is essential to achieving the collective aspirations of our people.
”I had reached out to the leadership of the APC, both at the state and national levels and I can tell you, their reactions have been so welcoming. Let me assure President Bola Tinubu of our readiness to contribute our experience, vision, and energy to the ongoing work of making Nigeria a place of opportunities, growth, and inclusive development”, said Jandor.
He stated ” In APC, we have a leader, even if you fault his selection choices, you can’t fault his desire to always win for his party to the benefit of all members, followers and the State. While in Lagos PDP, you have a leader that will, at every election cycle work against his own party, and wilfully dash the hopes of many party members and followers. We have chosen the better alternative”.
Jandor left the APC to join the PDP in 2003, he subsequently won’t the party’s gubernatorial ticket and represented the opposition party in the election.
