Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has described calls for him to contest the 2023 Presidential election as distracting.
Governor Bello stated this after, amidst calls from his political supporters to contest the forthcoming election.
Reacting to the calls at the Security and Economic Summit of the Northcentral Governors Forum in Benue State, Bello said that he is focused on delivering his mandate of rebuilding the state.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Nnogwu Sani Mohammed, on Monday, December 21, Bello said that he does not want to be distracted by calls to contest in 2023.
According to the governor, he does not want to be distracted in delivering his second term mandate of rebuilding Kogi state.
Further, he noted that his administration’s ability to curb insecurity and the massive youth empowerment has been attracting calls for him to join the 2023 presidential race. On the 2023 presidency, the Kogi state leader added that the issue should not be put on the front burner.
