In what can only be described as a show of arrogance, social activist, VeryDarkMan dared members of the House of Representatives to detain him.

The activist who is being investigated along side cross-dresser Idris Okuneye popular as Bobrisky, operatives of both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and some officials of the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS) was invited by a committee in the green chambers in a letter dated

However, upon his arrival at the committee’s sitting with his lawyer, VeryDarkMan was surprised to realise that the trio of the EFCC Chairman, Controller General of the NCoS and Bobrisky who were also invited by the committee were all absent.

VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Otse threw caution to the wind as he refused to address the lawmakers.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with Bobrisky’s absence, he said,

“I don’t know why I will be here and the person who made these allegations is not here. Bobrisky said in the voice note that there is a godfather. Maybe the godfather told him not to come. He has disrespected this committee by not coming here.

“You are already threatening me with arrest. If you detain me, I will stay in the cell. It won’t be the first time I will be in a cell. If Bobrisky is not here, I will not say anything. If I say anything, let me die.”

Despite the efforts of the committee members to persuade VeryDarkMan to speak on the allegations, assuring him that Bobrisky would also face the panel, he refused to speak any further stating that his lawyer would be the one to answer further questions.

It would be recalled that Bobrisky had allegedly claimed in a phone conversation that operatives of the EFCC demanded N15 million from him to absolve him of money Laundering  charges. He also claimed that he served his prison term of six months after being found guilty of abusing the naira in a luxury apartment outside the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre in Lagos.

Since the scandal broke, the federal government has suspended four senior officers from the NCoS, while several agencies including the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede and the Houses of Representatives have separately called for investigation into ths matter.
