***As Clubs Send Private Jet To Pick Players

The government of national unity in Libya has refused to issue clearance to Valuejet to enable it fly the Super Eagles of Nigeria out of the country.

Valuejet is the name of the airline which flew in Nigeria’s senior football team, Super Eagles into Libya ahead of Tuesdays second leg African Cup of Nations qualifying match.

The situation thus leaves the Super Eagles still stranded in the country as the aircraft remains grounded and unable to return the players to Nigeria.

This is coming after the super eagles players withdrew from the qualifiers due to the treatment they received upon arrival at Libya airport.

The Super Eagles were left stranded for over 16 hours in an abandoned airport without food, water or any provision made for them by the Libyan Football Federation.

Poojamedia, has now reported that clubs have now started sending private jets to pick their players.

‘’Libya is not granting a fly permit or selling aviation fuel to Nigeria chartered aircraft, Valuejet to fly out of Libya. Players’ clubs are already sending private jets but can only land at Tripoli or Benghazi & not Al-Abraq. 1pm in Libya & players/officials are still stranded,” Poojamedia wrote.
