Streaming platform, Showmax Nigeria has been slammed by users for its seemingly endless production of television series.
This follows the announcement that yet another series titled “Princess On the Hill’ is set to debut on the streaming platform this November.
Reacting to the advertisement of the new series on social media, Dennis Uwem, a Facebook user wondered why Showmax Nigeria continues to churn out series despite not completing existing ones already showing on the platform.
In his reaction, Uwem wrote “Showmax Nigeria make una finish previous series before entering another one. What’s happening to “Chetam”, “Flawsome”, “Untying Katai”, “Glass House” Haba.”
Kate Sitimi, another Facebook user who shared Uwem’s sentiment responded thus “E tire me abeg”.
Uwem went on to note that in most cases, one would have even forgotten the season they watched before Showmax Nigeria comes out with the next season.
The majority owner of Showmax Nigeria is MultiChoice, which owns 70% of the Showmax group, while American conglomerate NBCUniversal owns 30% in all territories except Nigeria, where NBCUniversal holds an indirect 23.7% stake in the local subsidiary.
In 2023, Showmax announced a partnership with Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Sky.
