Ride-hailing company, Bolt has reacted to the assault of its driver by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Alex Ifeanyi Mascot Ikwechegh.

Ikwechegh was caught in a video that has now gone viral assaulting the driver and calling him names.
Ikwechegh, representing Aba North/South Federal Constituency also threatened to make the driver disappear for refusing to enter his house to deliver a package late at night. He repeatedly asked the delivery man “Do you know who I am?”, before slapping him twice.
He went on to tell the delivery man that he would deal with him without having to call his police orderlies, while also threatening to throw him into his generator house.
In an exclusive chat with www.theoctopusnews.com, Bolt said it would react to the development soon.
A statement exclusively sent to www.theoctopusnews.com and signed by Omobuwa of Bolt Safety Team noted that “an update would be communicated soon”.
Ikwechegh has come under serious criticism for his abuse of power, with some Nigerians asking that the leadership of the House of Representatives investigate and discipline him for his actions that are unexpected of a lawmaker.
