“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others” is a popular quote from the popular book Animal Farm by George Orwell.
The proclamation by the pigs who control the government in the novel marked the level of decadence at that point in the book, such that while some animals were expected to live by certain laws others glaring abuse them.
What better way to illustrate the recent drama that emanated from the household of billionaire industrialist, Razak Okoya, when his sons Wahab and Raheem were caught in a viral video abusing the Naira, aided by a police officer?
The video naturally generated uproar among the masses, with many saying that nothing would happen to the boys after all, they are silver spoon kids from the famed Okoya dynasty.
That the duo of Cubana Chief Priest and crossdresser Bobrisky were invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the same offence with Bobrisky serving a six-month jail term made the issue more interesting.
However, as speculated, Okoya’s boys appear untouchable, as days after the video in which Wahab and Raheem are seen dressed in white agbada outfits and flaunting stacks of crisp N1000 notes to promote the latter’s new song titled, “Credit Alert”, nothing has been heard about the law they broke.
Interestingly, the duo have continued to enjoy their newfound attention, as the video has been a major talking point in society. Indeed, justice can wait.
