One of life’s biggest blows is a descent from grace to grass, hence the Yoruba parlance “The fall of the rich is never good.”
Former Group Managing Director of First Bank, Bisi Onasanya is by all means a very rich man, however, a continuous descent appears to be his case.
As GMD of First Bank, Onasanya was advised to resign his appointment before his tenure ended, that marked the beginning of his fall. Many alleged all sorts with some saying that the call for his resignation was related to an out of wedlock relationship with a beautiful woman. However, this allegation was never substantiated.
Since leaving First Bank, the chubby and bespectacled Chairman of The Address Homes Limited has fallen further down the ladder of grace.
So dented is the image of “Mr Integrity” that he is currently being alleged of fraud by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Onasanya is expected to be arraigned on Monday, January 18th, alongside Oba Otudeko, the Chairman of Honeywell Group for allegedly looting over N12.3 billion from First Bank.
They will be arraigned before Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke alongside two others, a former board member of Honeywell Group, Soji Akintayo and a firm, Anchorage Leisure Limited connected to Otudeko.
The quartet allegedly committed fraud in tranches of N5.2 billion, N6.2 billion, N6.150 billion, N1.5 billion, N500 million, N6.2 billion and N2.09 billion, all between 2013 and 2014 in Lagos.
So sad, how the mighty have fallen.
