Humility Can Wait: Seyi Tinubu Set Sight On Bigger Dreams

Humility is one of the attributes that has endeared many people to Seyi Tinubu.

The son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has always had all he could ever imagine, anything money can buy, yet that never made him grow wings or exist with some kind of air around him.

Soft-spoken, Tinubu always has control of his emotions, even going as far as humbling himself even when he is around people younger.

But there seems to be a level of power and influence that changes the most humble of persons, even the dark-complexioned and bearded Tinubu.

Since officially becoming the first son of Nigeria, the boss of Loatsad Promomedia has been slowly but surely metamorphosing.

Such is it that his attitudinal change has been attributed to his newfound wealth, and connections, confirming the saying that extreme wealth redefines extremely.

In recent times, Seyi Tinubu has been criticised on several fronts including his usage of official government properties for pleasure trips such as polo games and his unnecessary presence at State functions despite not being a government official.

It would be recalled that the younger Tinubu attracted criticisms for being in the Council chambers of the State House, Abuja at the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria last Friday, August 23.

On Monday, August 26, X users posted a picture showing Seyi sitting comfortably at the event and questioned his presence there. They argued that he was not meant to be there because he was not a government official.

The man had also been slammed for what has been described as an outrageous ambition following speculation he is set to announce his interest in the topmost public office in Lagos State in 2027.

In his reaction to the speculation which is growing bigger by the day, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, reduced the call for the young man to declare his ambition, describing the advocacy as a “needless distraction”.

In his sarcastic Facebook post, Igbokwe while referring to the man who seems to have recently found an interest in politics emphasised that leading a state as dynamic and demanding as Lagos requires significant experience and maturity, which he implied Seyi lacks.

“Ruling Lagos is not the job of boys,” he added.

There have also been allegations that the recent impeachment of the Lagos State Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa is not far from the workings of the Loatsad Promomedia boss, all in a bid to secure his 2027 ambition of emerging the Lagos State Governor, an ambition many say Obasa also has.
