The Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria (CIPMN) has inducted the Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George and the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olayinka Ojo as Fellows of the Institute.

The induction ceremony, held at the ministry’s conference room in Alausa, Ikeja on Tuesday witnessed the induction of 20 members into the Institute with five members inducted as fellows, while the other 15 were inducted as members.
The Council Registrar of the Institute, Mr. Henry Mbadiwe said the conferment of the institute fellowship on the major principals of the ministry is bore out of their past track record in Projects management before assuming their current positions as well as their roles and current responsibilities and urged them to be more committed to the principles of the Institute.
Commending the Institute and its management for their professional role in nation building, Mr. Ope George said ‘the coming on board of the Institute is timely in the history of the country because the country is growing infrastructurally and there is need for the management and coordination of projects by both the public and the private sectors.’
Asserting to the iconic role the ministry is saddled with in project management in the State, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olayinka Ojo said that all the departments in the ministry have contributions to every of the State’s project from conception to delivery stage.
The Chartered Institute of Project Manager of Nigeria (CIPMN) was established by the Parliamentary act of 2018 with its Secretariat in Abuja. It focuses on regulation, licensing, accreditation of its members and supervision of all projects in the country. Currently it has about 800 members graded as Fellows, Chartered, Associate, Graduate and Student members spread across the country.
The induction had in attendance management and some staff of the ministry, the Head, Financial Control, CIPMN, Mr. Durogbitan Babatunde; Head of membership of the Institute, Dr. Oyetunji Bashir Adewale and a Chartered member, Builder Jokotoye Gabriel.
