Hotelier, Lanre Gentry Opens Up On Wife Battering Speculation

Reactions are still pouring in following speculation that Mercy Aigbe was abused by her hotelier husband, Lanre Gentry.

Speculation that the actress had being a victim of domestic abuse came to fore on Saturday, April 29.

Aigbe started the speculation when she posted a note asking women to “say no to domestic violence” and her husband also posted his own note asking followers to “say no to promiscuous and irresponsible women”.

Interestingly, both posts elicited reactions with Gentry later coming out to deny abusing his wife, and attributing the picture being peddled around as a product of a movie.

Having deleted his initial post, Gentry posted a picture of himself and his wife saying “I love my wife.” When www.theoctopusnews.com contacted Gentry via phone, he simply answered thus to our inquiry “I am calm right now”.

This is not the first time that there will be a speculation concerning the two having issues with their marriage.

Recall that on Sunday, April 7, 2013 the couple had an issue when V Channel and Oodua TV hosted the thespian.

Then, having searched for his wife for almost an hour he found her in a room wearing a night gown. Subsequently, he dragged her into his SUV and left the event.
