***Says Entertainers Should Pay Their Taxes
DJ Jimmy Jatt has added his voice to the tax issues Nigerian entertainers are currently facing.
In a conference held recently, the DJ was quoted saying that “If entertainers are paying tax, make sure that the entertainment industry is secured and safe.”
Further, he stated that the fact that entertainers make money from the industry, there is need to take care of it, adding that the tax issues is something that both the entertainers and the government needs to talk about.
On the necessity for people to pay tax, the DJ said that is not a conversation to be had, as people should definitely pay their taxes.
The non payment of tax by high profile entertainer became a major topic of discussion following a letter by Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), inviting the trio of Falz, Davido and Ayo Makun to pay their tax for the year 2017.
