Simi, Olamide, Davido, Wizkid Shines at 2016/2017 Headies
The list of nominees for the 2016/2017 Headies has been released.
Now considered one of the most controversial awards, the nomination list is topped by the trio of Davido, Simi and Olamide.
In its 12th edition, the awards academy released the list after short listing thousands of entries submitted in the year under review.
As usual, several acts will compete for awards in the 25 categories and 77 nominees.
This year, Davido leads with the highest number of nomination, having been nominated in six different categories, while Wizkid, Simi, and Olamide, followed with five nominations each.
There are also new introductions, as they include The Viewer’s Choice Award, Best Performer category and a special category to recognize the efforts of brands that have supported the entertainment industry for the past three years. This category is a way of saying “thank you” to these brands, the organizers of the award have said.
