In recent times, there have been several stories of lovers dying while having sex in running cars.
In Ogba, Nigeria, two lovers were reportedly found dead around AY Garden Hotel, while having sex in a car with the air conditioner and the engine running.
Another case was one which happened in New Jersey, America, where a certain woman identified as Tameka Hargrave was found dead while having sex in a running car with her mechanic lover.
Kahali Johnson, the deceased husband was quoted saying that he returned home on the night of her death to find his wife and the mechanic she was having sex with dead before calling the police just before 9pm.
‘She’s just a few feet away, she’s laid out. And pretty much I had to call 911, because at this time, with that level of emissions, I knew that they were gone,’ Johnson said while explaining the incident.
According to him, he went to investigate after a strong gas odour entered his apartment and found the pair ‘laid out’. He said when he found them, they were both outside the car, which they left running. ‘As I tried to open the last garage door, I see the mechanic, he’s laid out,’ Johnson said
Investigators have however found the reason for Hargrave’s death saying that she died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Scientists have explained that when the lungs can’t properly eliminate carbon dioxide from the system, this can lead to imbalances in body gases and acidity.
At very high concentrations (100 times atmospheric concentration, or greater), carbon dioxide can be toxic to animal life.
