Popular Juju singer, Yinka Best, has explained why the duo of Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi and King Sunny Ade (KSA), featured prominently on ‘The Great Legends’, one of his three albums ready for release.
While Reverend Mother Ajayi is the Founder of United Kingdom-based Cherubim & Seraphim also known as Love of Christ Generation Church, King Sunny Ade (KSA), is a legendary musician of worth.
Speaking with Juke Box, Yinka Best revealed that the exemplary gesture of Reverend Mother Ajayi is immeasurable; hence he lent his voice to celebrating her with a track in his album, ‘The Great Legends’.
“Reverend Mother Ajayi has been a blessing to Africa and to the world as a whole. She is a good woman. There are people like her, but they don’t act the way she does. If those privileged like her do what she does, life will be a lot easier for us in Nigeria. She’s a philanthropist to the core, she wants a better life for everyone and that is the reason I recorded a track to honour her. She’s one of the best things that ever happened to Africa,” Yinka Best said.
Regarding his decision to eulogise KSA in the album, the Juju singer said: “King Sunny Ade is my father, he loves the younger ones and particularly, he has been there for me. He has done things many never thought he could do for me. So, I felt he deserves to be celebrated. Aside from that, he is a legend; he has contributed immensely to the society through his songs.”
While it might have been a while since Yinka Best released an album, he decided to quench the thirst of his fans with the release of three albums namely ‘The Great Legends’, ‘Dancing of Joy’ and ‘Lift Me Up’.
The albums are slated for release on Sunday, February 10 at an event to hold at 10 Degrees, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos with Ebenezer Obey, KSA, Kollington, Salawa, Kwam 1, Pasuma, Lanre Teriba and many more expected to be in attendance.
