Made Kuti, son of Femi Kuti has revealed what it is like to grow up as a Kuti.
According to the multi-instrumentalist, it basically means growing up around music, musicians and the mentality that forces you to challenge a lot of normal concepts.
Speaking during an interview, Made revealed that the shrine boasts of a lot of black history and musicians such that if you don’t tap into them you would have failed.
Made, who has a bachelor in music composition from London’s Trinity Laban Conservatoire Of Music and Dance revealed how hard it was to get into the university. According to him, most music universities are very exclusive. He revealed that he was accepted partly because he was the grandson of Fela and the son of Femi Kuti, adding that they wanted to see where he would take Afrobeat music in a classical setting
