Stella Olusami’s passion for the less privileged is second to none.
Despite having mediated between the Niger Delta youths, State Governments, security agencies, and corporate organisations for over 10 years, she is not done.
A conflict containment and management personnel, the founder of Stella Ihwechi Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), is at the moment focused on the growth and development of disadvantaged youths in slums.
Influenced by her exposure to the poor standard of living in villages and creeks during the course of her job, her passion to contribute and advocate for disadvantaged people so they can live a better life is her current focus.
With the support and contribution of corporate organisations, the Stella Ihwechi Foundation is hoping to be able to approach and positively influence some of the boys in the street in the nearest future.
“Our last project took us to the slum in Ajah axis in Lagos metropolis. We provided them with healthcare service and provided them with counseling sessions. We hope to take them through a series of rehabilitation programs, empower them to start small businesses or get jobs and then teach them how to become better citizens of our country. However, we need help as we can’t do it alone,” Olusami said.
