The Oloto Royal Family of Otto and Lagos Mainland has expressed concern over imposter encroaching on their land located behind National Stadium/ Tejuosho, Lagos State.
According to the family, a company identified as Mansfield Apartments claiming to be acting for Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited was inviting the general public to invest in the project.
The family said that it has been on the land from time immemorial during which it has been exercising several acts of ownership and has alienated parts of the land to legitimate buyers while retaining a large chunk for future family development.
Speaking via a statement signed by the family, Chief Lamina Kareem Akinlolu, the Ojomo of Otto and Lagos Mainland warned the public to beware of these people, adding that they had been shown a billboard erected at the entrance to the land behind the National Stadium by Iyun Street, after Stadium Hotel, Surulere marketing non-existent flats.
Advising members of the public not to fall victim of fraudsters, he added that most of the persons who owned the lands have perfected their documents and have C of O, adding that the activities of Oloto Royal Family as it relates to sales to other buyers date back to 1922.
Thus, he called on owners to take possession of their lands to avoid further encroachment, while stating that any person dealing with the imposters does so at his or her own risk.
According to Chief Akinlolu, the family sold a portion of the land to Nemecio Martin and the same was registered as number 112 at page 435 in volume 157 of 27th February 1922.
Other legitimate owners of portions of the land being advertised for sale by Mansfield Apartments and Lagoon Park Global Resources Limited are Prima Impex Limited with Number number 93/93/2012n, Kogi United Company Limited with Number 2/2/2012p, Kogi United Company Limited with number 99/99/2012N and B4 United Limited with number 49/49/2014, adding that all of the lands have a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O).
