The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dakuku Peterside, has been sacked.
Peterside was sacked y President Muhammadu Buhari with the agency’s former Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Dr. Bashir Jamoh appointed as a replacement.
Dakuku’s tenure as NIMASA DG came to AN ends on Tuesday, March 10.
Jamoh, a highly experienced and well-grounded maritime expert, is presently the Executive Director in charge of Finance and Administration of the agency.
Jamoh has over 32 years of both professional and technical experience in the maritime sector. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Port Harcourt, specializing in Logistics and Transport Management.
He also has a Masters Degree in Management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Sciences from Bayero University Kano and a Diploma in Accounting from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, respectively.
Peterside’s sack comes on the hill of the placement of the agency on full status enquiry following the non-submission of audited accounts for years 2015 to 2018 to the Auditor General of the Federation (AGF).
