Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has tested negative to Coronavirus.
Recall that the governor had announced that he had tested positive to the virus on Wednesday, July 22.
Governor Fayemi announced his new health status via his Twitter handle this morning Saturday, August 1, adding that his COVID-19 repeat test has come back negative for the second time.
The Governor also used the platform to urge Nigerians to continue to strive to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic.
Governor Fayemi is believed to have infected the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner, Olawale Fapohunda, and no fewer than 10 other aides with the virus.
The total number of confirmed cases as at the end of July had risen to 43,151, while 19,565 had recovered after treatments so far with 879 deaths confirmed from complications relating to the virus.
