A former Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), is dead.
Muhammad Tambari Yabo, a retired AIG died at the Usman Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto State, on Saturday, January 9, after a brief illness.
Though details of his illness were not made public yet, the retired senior police officer died at a time more deaths are being recorded from the coronavirus pandemic.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that 12 people died on Friday, January 8 from COVID-19.
The NCDC made this confirmation around midnight on Friday in a tweet on its official Twitter handle.
In the tweet, NCDC’s stated that Nigeria’s COVID-19 death toll rose from 1,330 on Thursday, January 7 to 1, 342 on Friday.
