The Federal Government has stated that the National Identification Number (NIN) is now a prerequisite for registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu stated this in Abuja on Thursday, January 21, during the 2020 ministerial press briefing.
He ordered the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), to work out modalities with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for implementation.
The report said the board had attempted the introduction of the policy two years ago but failed because of the low level of enrolment for the National Identity Cards by Nigerians.
