The presidency has reacted to the sacking of Fulani herdsmen by Yoruba activists, Sunday Igboho.

Recall that a week ago Igboho had given the herdsmen based in Igangan community to vacate within a week, blaming them for the killings and kidnap in the community.

Following the expiration of the ultimatum,  Igboho and his loyalist went on to sack the community and its leader, forcing the state government to declare him wanted.

Reacting to the development, presidential media aide, Lauretta Onochie, said that the Oyo State government must arrest Igboho immediately.

Onochie said that Igboho must be dealt with so that his case can serve as a deterrent to other persons who intend to emulate him.

Onochie wrote on Saturday, January 23: “Oyo: Makinde orders the police to arrest Sunday Igboho, others over Fulani quit notice.

“Mr. Governor. That’s how to show that you are the Chief Security Officer of Oyo State and that you are in charge. Please ensure prosecution serves as a deterrent.”
