It was a shower of blessings for beneficiaries of Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele’s empowerment programme which held on Sunday, February 14.
Annually, Primate Ayodele holds an annual Thanksgiving Service during which he blesses people beyond their imagination.
The servant of God and founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Lagos State had earlier visited schools and homes of the less privileged both within and outside Lagos, as part of events for his annual birthday celebration.
However, today’s event was a different cup of tea, as he empowered several individuals with items including two Sports Utility Vehicle, cash worth a total of Two Million Naira, Trips to Jerusalem, Tricycles, Generators among several other things.
The presentation programme which held amidst fanfare was indeed emotional as the men, women, boys, and girls who benefitted from the man of God’s gifts could not hide their emotions.
The well-attended event also saw several journalists walking away with cash gifts as part of the empowerment from the man of God.
Speaking on the motivation behind the empowerment, Primate Ayodele said, “Every 365 days I remember this day and try within my capability to do whatever I want to do, I just try to get the best out of it.
The man of God also revealed how he raises funds for the empowerment programme, adding that it is all about early planning.
According to him, “If I know that I want to empower 10 people, I start to plan it early. The people that I will empower next year, I will start to plan it tomorrow. Just as I have said, Nigerian pressmen are very important to me. They are very important in my earthly mission, and that is why I did this. I used to do it before, but I stopped it.
“I remember some people who started with me and next year, I will remember them. Mark it, every year, I will empower 10 pressmen, every year, a pressman will get an SUV, not a saloon. This year, I started with two SUVs, next year, I will give out one. SUV is very expensive now. I will be doing that on yearly basis. In the next five years, I would have covered 50 pressmen,” Primate Ayodele said.
Meanwhile, the man of God was also decorated as the ‘Commander of Faith’ by the interfaith chaplaincy of Nigeria and Worldwide.
Primate Ayodele was decorated on Saturday, February 13th, an event that preceded the annual Thanksgiving Service.
