Corruption Allegations: EFCC Interrogates Bukola Saraki

A former Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, has been interrogated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Saraki was invited and interrogated on Saturday, July 31 over corruption allegations brought against him.
The former governor of Kwara State was invited for questioning over allegations of misappropriation of funds and money laundering.
He arrived at the commission’s office at about 2: pm and is currently being interrogated. It is however not clear if he will be detained overnight.
Saraki was Senate President between 2015 and 2019. He spent most of his tenure facing allegations of corruption and false declaration of assets. He was acquitted by the Supreme Court in June 2018.
