An Oyo High Court has restrained the Department of State Security (DSS) and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) from arresting, intimidating, harassing, and blocking the bank accounts of Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo popular as Sunday Igboho.
Justice Ladiean Akintola gave the order after granting an ex-parte motion.
Recall that DSS officials raided Igboho’s Ibadan home on July 1, arresting twelve of his supporters and declared him wanted.
Igboho who fled the country subsequently through his lawyer, Yomi Aliyu, filed a N500 million lawsuit against the DSS over the invasion of his residence.
At the hearing of the suit, the court granted the order to stop the DSS from arresting or intimidating the activist following an ex-parte motion moved by Aliyu.
Aliu expressed confidence the AGF Abubakar Malami (SAN) will not disobey the court order, stressing that it was given directly against his office.
The judge adjourned the case till August 18
