News Governor Zulum Receives Six Boko Haram Escapees, 9 Children Published 3 years ago on October 12, 2021 By The Octopus News Admin Six girls and nine children who escaped from Boko Haram enclaves have been received by Governor Babagana Zulum. Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo told the governor that the victims ran away from Boko Haram enclave at Buni Yadi axis of Yobe State. Gambo said that they trekked through Sambisa Forest for about six hours before they were rescued by security operatives. The girls’ age range were placed at 20-25 years and it was also learnt that one of them was 8 months pregnant when she was abducted. Gambo said the three girls abducted during a raid at Takulashu village of Chibok were Maryam Ishaya with one child, Racheal Simon with two children and Esther Ayuba with two children. Alheri Ezekiel with two children, Victoria James also with two children, and Victoria Andrew were abducted from Cofure village, Hong town in Adamawa State. The commissioner added that; “The three of them were abducted on the 3rd of October 2020, while other ones were abducted on 5th of May, 2021.” Zulum received the freed school girls and their children at his office, Musa Usman Secretariat, Maiduguri, alongside some parents, Chairman of Chibok Local Government Area, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, traditional rulers, stakeholders including the Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Borno chapter, Bishop Williams Naga. Wile receiving them, he stated that government is doing everything possible to ensure speedy reconstruction and reintegration of all victims of Boko Haram terrorists into the society.
