The clerk of the National Assembly, Arch. Olatunde Amos Ojo has transmitted the amended Electoral Act to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.
The bill was transmitted to the president on Monday, January 31.
A source told The Nation that the Bill is now with the President. It is however uncertain if the President would assent to the reworked Bill.
This is coming amid reports of governors not being happy with the new amendments, and are planning to prevail on the President not to sign it.
