Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has reacted to being carelessly called “This One” by 2023 presidential hopeful, Senator Bola Tinubu.

Recall that Tinubu while addressing delegates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) at the Presidential Lodge in Ogun State on Thursday had boasted that Abiodun could not have become the governor of the state without him and God.

While speaking, Tinubu had said: “This one sitting behind me here, could not have become governor without me? We were at the stadium, they tore all his posters. Even the party flag, they didn’t want to hand over it to him, I was the one who brought it.

“If he wants to meet God at the right place, he must know that he would not have become governor without God and me,” Tinubu had stated.

Tinubu’s statement was in apparent disappointment that Abiodun who he helped to become governor of Ogun State had since backed the presidential aspiration of his protégée turned rival, Yemi Osibanjo.

In a measured reaction to being carelessly called “This One,” Abiodun stated that he is not an emperor and doesn’t aspire to be one, but only holds the post of governor in trust for his people.

“I am not an emperor by any chance and this is not my family inheritance,” the Ogun governor wrote via his twitter handle, @dabiodunMFR, on Friday.

“I am holding this position in trust for all the people of this state and I have vowed to be fair, just and equitable and this is the solemn agreement I made between the Almighty God and myself.”
