The poser what makes a man is one that has been severally asked in a bid to find the true personality of an individual.
For many, integrity makes a man, the ability to say it and do it just as you have promised.
This is one virtue that is not peculiar to all men. Indeed, a lot of men can’t put their money where their mouth is.
But is this the case with Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State?
There are those who are currently answering ‘YE’.
Following the recent declaration of an indefinite strike by the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Joint Negotiating Committee, (JNC), one major talking point that has been consistent remains Abiodun’s alleged insensitivity to workers’ “welfare”.
According to the oganisers of the strike, the decision to embark on the strike follows the government’s non payment of eight-year statutory leave allowances and breach of the State Pension Reform Law, 2006 (amended 2013) in the implementation of the Contributory Pension Scheme, amongst other demands.
The workers also berated Abiodun for failing to honour the agreement contained in the Memorandum of Understanding( MoU) in 2020.
If Abiodun has not lived up to the agreement he signed, two years ago, what does this say about his personal, especially as he continues his bid to gain a second term in office.
