The absence of key prosecuting witnesses has stalled the alleged assault trial of Nigerian singer, Panshak Zamani, popular as Ice Prince.
Proceedings on the matter could not continue on Wednesday, September 6, when the singer appeared at the magistrate court in Ajah.
The artiste who is famed for several hit songs including ‘Oleku’ was charged to court by the Nigeria Police on a three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out its statutory duties, and abduction.
During the trial, the prosecuting lawyer asked the court to adjourn the case, citing the absence of his two witnesses.
Recall that Ice Prince was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 while he was also asked to provide “two responsible sureties”.
The court also ordered that he remains at the Ikoyi correctional facility until he perfects the bail conditions.
Folarin Dalmenida, the lawyer to the musician, presented the two sureties to the court. However, officers at the Ikoyi correctional facility said that the artiste would remain in custody until he meets his bail conditions.
