Voting has commenced in Bayelsa State, as the electorate seeks to vote for a new governor for the state.
According to videos sighted on Channels Television, voting commenced as early as 8:00 am.
Earlier in the day, ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), were seen enlightening voters on how to conduct themselves during the election.
Electorates in Bayelsa State are seeking to elect a new governor in the off-cycle governorship election.
However, the contest is between the incumbent candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Douye Diri, who is seeking a second term, and the former Governor of the State, Timipre Sylva, who is contesting on the flagship of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), and Udengs Eradiri of the Labour Party, (LP).
