Details of how popular rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji popular as Oladips died have been revealed.
Recall that the rapper’s management announced his death on his official Instagram page on Wednesday, November 15.
In a statement, the late artiste’s management noted thus: “We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS has passed away yesterday Nov’14 Tuesday evening, at exactly 10:14pm. We are still in shock as we speak!
“For over 2 years he has kept his battles within himself, his body is now with his family & funeral service will be announced as soon as it is concluded!
“The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss. (Amen) -Management,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, associates of the singer have now revealed how he died, saying that he collapsed, but couldn’t be helped by his friends who were with him.
Prior to his death, Oladips had taken to his Instagram stories to cry out for help.
In the post, he asked of the whereabout of one of his friend, @onlyonelifetime.
The rapper complained about how he had tried to reach the friend on the phone several times and how he didn’t like to be left alone in the house, especially with his condition.
Until his sudden death at the age of 28, Oladips seemed to have battled an illness which he kept to himself.
Though unconfirmed, the ‘Lalakukulala’ singer, reportedly battled with depression for two years.
Ironically, Oladips’ death comes barely two months after the death of rapper Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad.
Born on 24th March 1995, Oladips is from Ogun State. He began rapping at the age of 17.
He initially came to limelight when in 2015, he was announced as one of the winners of the ‘King is Here’ rap competition organised by DBanj.
