Northerners in Lagos State comprising of Hausa and other tribes like Nupe, Fulanis and Gwaris have endorsed Honorable Solomon Adeola to represent the people of Lagos West Senatorial District in the Senate.
Giving the endorsement at a town hall meeting in Agege, the chairman of Arewa community and North Central people residing in Lagos West Alhaji Abdulahi Kabiru said Hon. Adeola who is the chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts, has always identified with northerners in all his empowerment programmes as a member of the state House of Assembly and House of Representatives, adding that the Northerners are fully in support of his aspiration to continue to the highest level of legislature in the country.
“Hon Adeola aka Yayi that we have renamed Suleiman, has always identified with the aspirations of our people in his poverty alleviation programmes, free medical programmes and free GCE and JAMB form for our children. His track record as a representative makes him very suitable for the position of a distinguished Senator” Kabiru stated.
In addition, all the Serikis (leaders) of Hausa community in Lagos conferred on him the title of “Turakin Hausawa” in Lagos for his services to their people with his name now Turakin Suleiman Adeola.
In his response, Hon Adeola promised to ensure that northerners in his senatorial district will not be discriminated against in all his empowerment programmes, poverty alleviation, free medical care and free educational materials adding that they should vote for all APC candidates, as the party’s programmes will end their suffering under PDP rule.
He said the presidential candidate of APC General Mohammed Buhari, has a track record of performance while in service and as Head of state in tackling security issues adding that Buhari’s presidency will lead to security and development that had been denied Nigerians under PDP rule.
He called for the election of APC candidates at all levels adding that at the National Assembly Buhari will need a cooperative and dynamic legislators to effect legislations needed for change.
The town hall meeting was attended by over 5000 northerners drawn from across the 28 LCDAs (10 LGAs) of Lagos West.
