Operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested Tibiebi Woinemi Amadein for illegally possessing a firearm.
Amadein, who is currently being held and interrogated at a police station in the state is a former militant and a self-proclaimed general.
His current arrest is not isolated from an earlier incident in November 2021, in which Richard Okon was taken into custody for reportedly possessing firearms illegally at a wake-keeping event.
In a confessional video, Okon claimed to be working with Amadein, and the gun belonged to him.
He is the nephew and Chief Security Officer to Senator Cleopas Moses who represented Bayelsa Central in the 9th Senate.
The police previously invited Tibiebi, but he reportedly presented fake licences and forged documents and was released due to his connections with some chieftains of the state PDP and government.
However, a fresh petition to the police led to his current arrest and he is being interrogated for illegal possession of a firearm and forgery of a firearm licence.
It was learnt that Tibiebi had been boastful about being untouchable by law enforcement officials due to his connections with the state PDP executive members and the state government.
