President Bola Tinubu’s big axe recently chopped off certain ministers from his cabinet.
In a minor reshuffle of his cabinet, Tinubu announced the sacking of five ministers including Uju-Ken Ohanenye as Minister of Women Affairs, Lola Ade-John as Minister of Tourism, Tahir Mamman as Minister of Education, Abdullahi Gwarzo as Minister for State for Housing and Urban Development and Jamila Ibrahim as Minister of Youth Development.
Although the sacked Ministers had played their part in Tinubu’s government, the need for Tinubu to achieve more saw them making way for new appointees.
Amidst speculation about the sack has been the poser of how the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu escaped the axe.
Since he was appointed Minister of Power, Adelabu has faced a high level of criticism with many calling for his sack. The call for Adelabu’s sack has been based on the fact that he has not been able to achieve anything meaningful in the power sector.
The erratic power supply in the country has also not held matters justifying the call for Adelabu’s sack, even by students. But like a cat with nine lives, Adelabu escaped the cabinet reshuffle and live to fight another day.
