Money is definitely not the problem of Adebayo Adelabu.
Having resigned as the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), he definitely has a deep pocket.
Told by Governor Abiola Ajimobi that he was not the kind of person to succeed him, many had thought that the dark-complexioned and chubby man’s dream of becoming Oyo State’s next governor had ended.
At a point, even Adebalu must have thought so, as those favoured by the godfather became the major talking point.
Competing against heavy weight such as the duo of Joseph Tegbe and Adeniyi Akintola (SAN), who wouldn’t fret?
But spurred by fate, Adelabu kept on going till the end when the party primaries held and all of his contenders started stepping down for him like magic.
With the last contender Adeniyi Akintola stepping down just as the election started, the possibility that Adelabu might just have used his ace has been pondered on.
