Plans are already on the way for the 2018 House On The Rock annual gospel concert, The Experience.
Themed ‘Jesus Peace’, this year’s concert will hold on December 7 at Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos, Nigeria from 7pm.
This edition will feature legendary musician Kirk Franklin, JJ Hairston, Planetshakers and ADA. Other artistes who will be returning include Travis Greene, Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin and Tope Alabi.
Organised by House on the Rock, this will be the 13th edition of the annual gospel concert.
Inspired by the House On The Rock senior Pastor, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the concert started as a thought inspired by God, Adefarasin has been quoted saying.
The Experience is one of the most popular gospel event in Africa among Christians and non-Christians alike, averaging a yearly attendance of over 500,000 people at the venue, with millions more watching online from all over the globe, it has grown to become the biggest gospel concert in the world.
Explaining the inspiration for the 2018 theme, Adefarasin said it was to highlight who Jesus is, especially in the world we live in today – the Prince of Peace.
Speaking further on the strategic theme, Adefarasin emphasized that regardless of the outcome of the forthcoming elections; peace is the ultimate candidate that we should all support, and must be the candidate that wins. “Peace (as I know it) is not the absence of tension but the presence of Justice” he said. The concert according to him will be a continuous reminder that the God of Peace is with us.
Also lined up for the show are acts such as Nathaniel Bassey, Vicki Yohe, Chioma Jesus, Tope Alabi, Eben , Tim Godfrey, Mike Aremu, Glowreeyah, Onos, Eno Michael and Chee.
