A group identified as Coalition for Good Governance and Economic Justice in Africa has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Commission (ICPC), to probe the administration of Godwin Obaseki.
The group hinged its call on the alleged arrest of Obaseki’s commissioner, Osaze Osemwingie-Ero over allegations of money laundering.
Osemwingie-Ero was reportedly arrested in France by Interpol over alleged possession of $2 million.
The group’s country director, John Mayaki, on Sunday, January 12, also accused Governor Obaseki of damaging public trust, running an opaque government, saying he has refused to make public the spendings of the government since he assumed office.
