A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jumoke Anifowose has alleged that chieftains of the party are planning to kill her.
The politician revealed this much in Ondo State on Thursday, January 28, while speaking with journalists.
According to her, she has been receiving death threats from some chieftains of the party for refusing to drop her legal action against Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, saying that her life is in danger.
She said: “They are after my life, I have been warned to stay away from the state, for now, they are planning to assassinate me, they know if I die the case would die.”
Anifowose stated that APC leaders have been pleading with her to drop the case. She stated that her refusal to do so has angered the chieftains of the party.
She said: ”They have come to beg me, it was when I refused that they began the plan to get rid of me. But their plans have been exposed to me, I know all of them.”
The politician vowed to pursue her case against the governor to a logical conclusion. The former governorship aspirant faulted her reported suspension from the APC for alleged anti-party activities.
Anifowose is challenging the validity of Rotimi Akeredolu’s emergence as the governorship candidate of the APC in the Ondo guber poll. She lost the case at the Federal High Court in Abuja but is threatening to appeal the judgment.
