There are allegations that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to disown President Muhammadu Buhari ahead of the 2023 election.
The spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan made the claim in a statement posted on the PDP’s Facebook page on Saturday, November 28.
According to Ologbondiyan, the APC leaders had begun underground moves to disown the Buhari administration over its inefficiencies. He alleged that desperation to hold on to power had forced the ruling party to consider a possible change of name as well as the plotting to destabilise the PDP.
He said: “The attitude and character of the APC have manifestly shown that it is mortally afraid to stand election in 2023, given that Nigerians have seen through their antics and are determined not to have anything to do with such a deceitful, beguiling, divisive and incompetent party in future elections.”
Further, he said that the ruling party has remained uncoordinated and rudderless for the five years it has been in power. The PDP also urged the APC caretaker committee chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni, to stop engaging in needless politicking.
