LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT OFFICE OF THE CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY TO THE GOVERNOR PRESS RELEASE APC SETS UP 18 SUB-COMMITTEES FOR PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES, NAMES SANWO-OLU AS CHAIRMAN FINANCE, LOGISTICS COMMITTEE •••Governor Bello For Presidential Screening Appeal Committee The All-Progressives Congress (APC) has set up 18 sub-committees for the party’s special convention for the presidential primaries slated for June 6 to 8, 2022. The members of the committees were made known via a statement issued on Wednesday night by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka. Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu was appointed to handle finance and logistics, while Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya and Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, were appointed to chair the budget sub-committee. Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello will head the Presidential Screening Appeal. He will be assisted by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase. Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun will handle accreditation and decoration, while his Ondo counterpart, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu was appointed to handle the security and compliance committee. He will be assisted by a former Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd). Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, will head the transportation committee and he will be assisted by the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, was appointed to handle election planning and will be assisted by his Imo State counterpart, Hope Uzodinma. Accommodation will be handled by Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, and Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola. Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, takes charge of media publicity, while Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige and former Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole, will handle medicals. The party members defied the downpour that marred the exercise held on Thursday at Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan; they filed under the rain and cast their votes to approve the Governor’s second term ticket. The electoral process commenced at 12:33pm with the arrival of the chairman of the Lagos Gubernatorial Primaries Committee led by the former Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Adamu Shettima Yuguda. The electoral committee’s arrival was followed by immediate accreditation of delegates across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs). Of all the 1,225 delegates expected to participate in the primaries, the electoral committee accredited 1,198 delegates seated at the venue. The applicants – Mrs. Adebomi Orogun, Mrs. Kehinde Banjo, and Mrs. Oluwatoyin Ode, in an originating application brought pursuant to Order 1 Rule 2 of the Magistrates’ Courts Civil Procedure Rules of Lagos State (2009), accused the bank of freezing their USD (US Dollar), Euro and Naira accounts with the bank without a valid court order. They said the bank proceeded to make unauthorized deductions from their accounts without any justification whatsoever as there was no time they were accused of engaging in fraudulent activities with the said accounts.
