One attribute peculiar to the duo of Bola Shagaya and Ibukun Awosika is the success they have recorded in their chosen field.
So successful are these women that they have become a recurring decimal both within and outside the country.
In recent times, however, they have both thinned out of relevance, making only rare appearances at social and business events.
While Awosika went underground and became less vocal after her ouster as Chairman of the board of First Bank, Shagaya embraced the same fate after losing her once-powerful political might.
However, the duo recently resurfaced at a women-centric event organised by a financial institution in Nigeria.
In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2022, the financial institution put together a networking programme themed ‘Breaking the Bias’, aimed at celebrating leading women and female achievers.
Aimed at promoting gender equity across various sectors and spheres, the event highlighted Shagaya and Awosika as women who have emerged pioneers in their respective fields.
