Boko Haram kills 14 soldiers, 9 policemen in Yobe, Borno States attack

The onslaught against innocent Nigerians by the dreaded Boko Haram sect continues unabated.

Fourteen soldiers, the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Hassan Thlama of Buni Yadi Division and the station’s Divisional Crime Officer, DCO, and 12 civilians were among the victims of another attack by Boko Haram in Yobe and Borno states on Monday, May 26.

The terrorists launched their attacks in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State and Chinene village in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

Buni Yadi is about 55 kilometres from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, and had witnessed several attacks, particularly one on the Federal Government College, which claimed the lives of over 55 students sleeping in their dormitories.

www.theoctopusnews.com, gathered that the terrorists, using Hilux vehicles with military camouflage, Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)’s, Petrol Bombs and Rocket Propelled Launchers, invaded Buni Yadi from 5pm to 9pm on Monday, targeting security formations in the town.

The attackers were also said to have arrived the scene with Armoured Personnel Carriers, (APC), and were reported to have told residents not to panic as they did not come for them.

They subsequently bombarded the Nigerian Army and police formations in the town, leading to the killing of 14 soldiers and 11 policemen, including the DPO and the DCO.

The attack led to the destruction of many government properties, including the Magistrate’s Court, the local government secretariat, several vehicles and the palace of the Emir.
