Bruno Fernandes is officially the first Manchester United player to speak on Erik Ten Hag’s sacking as manager.

Erik Ten Hag
Earlier today, Monday, October 28, United confirmed the decision to sack Ten Hag.
The decision followed a 2-1 loss to West Ham, leaving the club sitting in the 14th position after picking up just 11 points from their first nine Premier League matches.
Speaking on the sack, Fernandez said,
“Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager. Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024. We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future,” a club statement read.
Assistant coach Ruud van Nistelrooy has been put in interim charge, and remains the favourite to get the job on a permanent basis. The likes of Julian Nagelsmann, Gareth Southgate, Thomas Frank and Ruben Almiron are also in the running.
Fernandes, who has come under fire for his performances in recent weeks and months, acknowledged the club’s poor form and thanked the departed Dutchman for his services.
