President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that Nigerian elites are in the habit of harassing his administration despite achievements recorded.
The president made the remark on Saturday, January 30, in Daura, Katsina State at a political gathering.
He said the criticism of his administration does not reflect the true state of affairs in the country, asking the elites to consider where Nigeria was when he assumed office in 2015 when assessing his administration.
The president asked what his predecessors did with the money the country made when oil prices were still high.
He said: “The problem is that I will like especially the elites to please be reflective. When we came, where we were, the resources available from them, and the condition of the infrastructure.”
Buhari stated that Nigerian elites prefer to harass his administration with criticisms rather than rating the competence of governance.
