News Combat Pilot, Arotile Laid To Rest In Abuja Published 4 years ago on July 23, 2020 By The Octopus News Admin The remains of Nigeria’s first female combat pilot, Tolulope Arotile, has been laid to rest at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja. Recall that Arotile died on July 14 in Kaduna. Her burial is in strict compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, Nigerian Air Force spokesman, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said. Arotile died from severe injuries following a road traffic accident at the NAF base in Kaduna, the Air Force confirmed. According to the Air Force, she was knocked down by a former secondary school classmate while in the process of reversing his car to give her a lift. Arotile was commissioned as Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot eight months before her death.
