Marlians can now celebrate, as one of the suits brought against Naira Marley has been dropped.
A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos dismissed the car theft charge filed by the police against the singer, his brothers and their cousin.
Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias dismissed the charge on Tuesday, January 14, without Naira Marley appearing in court.
The order followed an out of court settlement agreement between the complainant, Adelekan Ademola, and the four defendants.
Recall that the defence lawyers had earlier hinted that an out-of-court settlement was being considered, adding that the police were not against the peaceful resolution of the matter.
Naira Marley, his two brothers Idris Fashola, 18; and Babatunde Fashola, 24; and their cousin, Kunle Obere, 22, were sued by the police on four counts of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police from arresting Marley.
The singer and his siblings were accused of stealing a Toyota Camry valued at N1.8 million and an iPhone X5 said to be worth N330,000
