A situation which has been looming for more than a year in one of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur’s organisations, African Business Roundtable (ABR), is expected to develop into a full blown crisis anytime from now.
Prior to Alhaji Tukur’s appointment as the National Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in March 2012, he held sway as the Chairman of ABR enjoying good cash support from the Presidency thereby promoting the image of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Nigeria in the countries where his organisation went. Things were no doubt good for his organisation.
It even got better for ABR when Alhaji Tukur was appointed National Chairman of the ruling party, as he was able to lobby for more finance for the operation of his company in Africa. This was how it was for the organisation until it fell into a cash crunch months back leading to a mass sack of staffers in the organisation. All contract staffers at the organisation had to leave at the end of their six month contract, as the company struggled like a drowning swimmer to remain afloat.
That the company did not go into extinction at that time is credited to the fact that Alhaji Tukur pumped endless funds into it even though they did not engage in any major project.
A source within ABR confided in www.theoctopusnews.com that the recent sacking of Alhaji Tukur from PDP has raised more negative speculation about the organisation. According to our source, the speculation is that things are set to go from bad to worse in ABR, as more staffers will have to depart the organisation and since there are no longer contract employees to sack the next carder might be the ones to suffer the brunt.
The source, revealed that the fallout between President Jonathan and Alhaji Tukur’s sack means a more difficult time for the organisation, as its management will inadvertent start looking for cash to remain visible knowing that the bulk of the company’s support comes from the Presidency.
As it is Alhaji Tukur’s ABR is set for a difficult time.
